VR is very funny and the people who expect that to be the future of gaming are out of their midns
yeah uh you just need to dedicate 7 square feet of your living space to VR, this is something everyone is able to do on top of a 1000 dollar peripheral,
@wintgenstein to be fair a lot of games are playable on the oculus with a desk chair and like maybe 3-4 square feet if you’re familiar with your surroundings.
compared to other VR headsets, the price range for the rift is around 300-400 if I remember right. The downside obviously is that it’s a facebook owned product but *shrug*
there are genuinely some things that VR can do that other games can’t. there really is a sense of place on /good/ experiences, some community-made.
@soft accurate cw damn
@wintgenstein I still stand by the fact that it’s a totally different experience than mouse and keyboard games. it’s fun to get lost in.
@soft my concern is that aside from alyx it's mostly tech demos. I think the case is made that it's less about gaming and more about computing tbh. like art programs in vr
@wintgenstein theres issues with it but its super cool to play around with if you are one of the like 5 people who can afford it and have the space
@wintgenstein nice replies lmao
A cool and chill place for cool and chill people.
