what if we just took care of peoples basic needs and stuff so if people wanted to do art and distribute it online for free that was a totally viable way to live, and we all didn't have to pretend that intellectual property makes any fucking sense as a concept

@uncletrunks The whole concept of intellectual property is terrifying, too. I mean just the words "intellectual" and "property" put together alone is scary. 😕

@uncletrunks the more I read about capitalism the more I start thinking that the entire concept of intellectual property needs going over with a fine-tooth comb. I think this might be a good start:

acknowledging the work of others when inspired by them, or when sharing their works: good.

leveraging the systems of capital to extract value from others with minimal work on your part: bad.
