Idea: people can’t take ally pins. Each lgbtqia+ person gets 2 and can gift them to people who actually deserve them.
recapping my own art
i think maybe two people read it, but last semester i adapted the lemon demon song The Machine into a 10-page screenplay (roughly 10 minutes of short film).
the protagonist spends his entire life fascinated by rube goldberg-esque machines. he gets brushed off or ridiculed by the people around him (parents and peers alike), because his obsession is with machines that "don't do anything". eventually, the protagonist creates a machine so massive and convoluted that people have to take interest in it. a news crew shows up, it's a whole big thing. he sets the machine up, runs it, and deliberately hides the end result from everyone. he never tells a soul "what it does".
ultimately the camera sees that the end product of the machine is a domino, engraved with the single message of encouragement the protagonist ever received. in the handwriting of his first inspiration, it says "KEEP BUILDING!"
interacting with people is scary and hard.
