Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

I have an R43DS

I just put games on it

I put it in my system

I wanted to put more games on it.

It is now readonly

Any way I can stop the SD card becoming read only?

Can I use NTFS or something? It's in FAT32 format right now since that works with everything and was recommended by the website

@cccam did you accidentally flick the little switch on the side of the card?

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@dragon @cccam is THAT what that's for?

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@sunsetmoth @dragon Yes. Annoying bastard, especially when they don't say which way is which

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@cccam @sunsetmoth yep that's exactly what it's for, it's a physical way to secure your data, AFAIK no software can bypass that although I haven't looked into that in a good while

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@cccam @sunsetmoth huh that's strange did you change anything apart from transferring files? Would reformatting have negative consequences?

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@dragon @sunsetmoth All I did was put the card back in the DS to check what I'd got, but in the mean time had found more games I wanted.

Formatting the DS means copying 10 minutes worth of stuff over (and slowly growing larger as I add more 50-60MB games, and the more I play the bigger my save files are gonna get)

@dragon Nope, checked that already. I never even take my converter out honestly. I don't have SD cards anymore

@cccam NTFS is windows exclusive and works with literally nothing else natively, fat32 is AFAIK the only way to go for the DS

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@dragon @cccam Fat32 or exfat, with exfat being preferred by r4, from my memory of setting up these cards.

re: Dubious legality, Nintendo DS, Revolution 4 DS

@clarjon1 @dragon Ah, I'll try exfat

@clarjon1 @cccam exfat works??? On a DS? That's cool as hell
