I'm feel a good deal better but yesterday I was really, really hit hard by a wave of depression and emotion. Pain isn't bad, though discomfort is annoying.

When I woke up after surgery, dew had purchased a bunch of 90s trivia, which I aced despite still being heavily drugged.

They asked me what I wanted to eat for dinner and like, idk? I got pasta. Wild that they expected me to have a strong opinion about it.

I spent the night at the surgery center, and the nurse for the night was like, "Wow, your heart rate is high" It is! I showed her my medical history and she made a comment. Like, what am I gonna do about it?

We spend the next two days at a hotel near the surgery center. This was actually really nice. A king size bed for me and dew. I know I watched a lot of cat videos and tiny house videos but I barely remember it. Opiods are a hell of a thing.

When we got back to the AirBnb, PG&E had turned the power off. It was off until... I forget, but at least two days. What did we even DO for that much time?

Once the power came back we did watch Johnny Mnemonic and Gremlins 2. Maybe we should watch more.

I had my first bout of post-surgery depression after I had the catheter and packing removed, which, wildly, the doctor even warned me about. Even the group sessions were like, "Yeah, the emotional part is more difficult than the pain."

Even in the last day or so it's gotten better, it's just WILD, my brain is clearly freaking out, feeling nostalgic for all kinds of shit.

fwiw the pain hasn't been a big deal for me.

I have my second followup appointment on Wednesday. Curious what that'll be about. There's also a music festival right outside our airbnb's door. I want to make it out to some of the food stalls at least once but standing isn't easy.

Oh, re: airbnb... since we had to be here for a month, it was the most reasonable choice. I love our host, though? She's been really nice and helpful, her husband brought us food while the power was out, etc. AirBnb as a company and a model has issues, but the basic idea of, "We have a suite we'd like to rent out" has been much appreciated in this case.

What we need is enough trans people with extra space in highly sought-after areas so we could provide support for each other.

Oh wait, trans people tend to be broke.
