Are there any easy ways to scale a docker container based on sidekiq information?
@cambrian_era not really, I use a HPA in kubernetes, but that requires
- metrics-server for scaling based on CPU
- a custom metric to feed metric server if you want to scale on backlog pressure
@sascha Ah well. It's not like it's that big a deal because we've got plenty of overhead for now but it still bugs me to use more resources than we need to just in case.
@cambrian_era on the scale of any mastodon instance it's probably sufficient to scale by hand once a week or so
I just went overkill with kubernetes didn't I
@sascha It's really that I'll probably use the server for other things at some point, but for now, it's not a big deal. If I need to, I can work on it.
A cool and chill place for cool and chill people.
