Got my evil fingers on at last. Commencing my livetooting

The Expanse s04e01 (Cibola Burn spoilers likely)

I can see already that there are a hell of a lot of changes from the books.
The Alien ruins aren't what I'd imagined, but that's typical of adapting books. Weird that Alex & Naomi are on the planet. I'm wondering whether the part about the ships and Havelock are going to make it into the show.

I'm getting the impression that Ashford is going to be the Michio Pa of Nemesis Games (or whatever one #5, was). It'd be funny if book Pa was spliced into both show Drummer & show Ashford. Pa was one of my favorite characters.

God I love watching Bobbie beat the shit out of people...

I like that they are including the sorry sorry with Bobbie's nephew. That's pretty neat.

I think the suddenness of the Murtry murder is a little strange, but I'm curious to see how that is played out.

I like how they're blending the Bobbie short story and book 5's missing tech/tech theft mystery together.

The Murtry plot is developing nicely. It's only a little awkward with Naomi there, but I think they're doing it better than having her just stay on the ship.
I actually like the subplot that Naomi has suffering from Big Gravity Syndrome. It's going to tie in nicely with getting her in orbit with the Israel ship.

That fucking crazy surgery scene is awesome. Idk if it's surgery, idk about medicine or anything. But, that's a neat tool...

Love seeing that reactor island blow up

The reactor's failure's effects (e.g. the tsunami) was pretty great. I'm happy to see the eye problem is showing up more. A few episodes ago the little girl have that first foreshadowing

I find criminal Bobbie super weird.

The Expanse s04e08 (book spoilers likely)

The Avasarala plot is not developing at all as I expected. I expected Avasarala to lose the election, Gao to win, and next season when the Free Navy bombards Earth & Gao dies along with nearly everyone else, she'd become SG again, but see it in a new light through her experiences.
Not upset that Avasarala is playing the election a little dirty though.

The Expanse season 4 thoughts. show&book spoilers

When I was thinking earlier in the year about what would happen in this season and the next, it was vaguely this. I wasn't really imagining the Bobbie on Mars aspect, but it makes a lot of sense. I didn't anticipate the Avasarala aspect but I think that it worked, giving the season a little political drama. What I was mainly expecting would be the setting up of the Inaros/Free Navy war while the other half of the season would be the plot of Cibola Burn. With plenty of nice twists & add-ons & subplots, that's pretty much what it was.
One thing that I found weird is Arjun Avasarala. The bitterness that develops between Chrisjen & him seem kinda weird since it's not in the books, though I guess it makes sense within Chrisjen's fervent pursuit of retaining power. His actor's replacement was also pretty shocking/strange but I guess it can't be helped.
I really liked the season. I'm very excited to see what they do in season 5.
