I live in one of the poorest states in the US, and we (as electric/gas utility ratepayers) just spent 9 billion dollars to dig a big hole in the ground and fill it back in (for a fission power plant that never got built). So I always point at that when someone says we can't afford single payer health insurance or a Green New Deal.



I hate to say this as a LibSoc, but, short of a mass coordinated movement like the International (with members actually in gov't [unlikely]) or revolution, there will need to be a UN-like structure--one that enforces tax laws and rates instead, however.

The idea being that members sign on and sanction countries like Switzerland that act as tax havens w/ the same gusto that they use now for imperialist "regime change."

But this is also unlikely because of multinationals' influence.
