adventures in 3D printing, possible eye contact? (cartoon animal)
After printing nothing but bed-leveling tests yesterday on my new Ender 3 Pro, today I printed my first actual prints: the Ender test dog and a Cali Cat. They turned out mostly okay! The cat has a slightly droopy chin and some rings on its tail, but other than that, it's good.
I started printing a PCB cover, but my first layer went down so lousy that I stopped the print. I'll try again tomorrow. #3dprinting
Replying here because I forgot to tag #yunohost, which seems to be a somewhat more active hashtag.
If anyone has the know-how and time to spare on updating a YunoHost package, please check out my toots upstream. The #friendica package is out-of-date by about a year, and fixing that could help make the Fediverse even more available.
beverages, non-alc mixology, recipe
**Ingredients (approximate)**
- 2 oz Seedlip Grove 42 Citrus
- 4 oz fresh orange juice (canned *absolutely* won't work)
- 2 tsp homemade clove simple syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 oz. Good Earth Sweet & Spicy (Mango Spice) tea, brewed strong for at least 10 minutes
**Directions**
Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into an ice-filled tumbler and garnish with an orange slice.
beverages, non-alc mixology
It also used Good Earth Sweet & Spicy chai, which tastes nothing like actual chai but does carry some nice notes of cinnamon and mango.
Anyway, I figured I'd share my rough recipe. I haven't tried this again since that night, so I don't know if the proportions are exact, or if it even tastes as good as I recall! I offer it in the spirit of adventure. π
beverages, non-alc #mixology, weed
Last week, I mixed a drink up for my wife that I remember as being surprisingly tasty and complex for a non-alcoholic drink. I say "I remember as" with some uncertainty, though, 'cause I was pretty high at the time. π
It uses Seedlip non-alcoholic "spirits", which I discovered a year ago and have found pretty cool for booze-free mixing. Specifically, it uses their Grove 42 Citrus, which is made with three varieties of oranges, lemon, ginger, and lemongrass.
I'm assuming it's outside of my grasp, that is. If it's as simple as changing a variable for the source file name and some checksums, that's one thing, but if just about *anything* else needs done (databases? new certificates? I dunno, configuring APIs?), I'm clueless, and I don't know how to tell if that's necessary.
Does anyone have the time and know-how to update the [Friendica package for YunoHost](https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/friendica_ynh)? It's currently packaged with #friendica version 2019.01, and the latest release version of Friendica appears to be 2019.12.
The [YunoHost contributor documenation](https://yunohost.org/#/contributordoc) has information on packaging apps.
This is outside of my technical understanding, so I don't feel capable of doing it myself, hence the call. All help would be greatly appreciated!
I ordered a 3D printer after Christmas and I'm *so* eager for it to ship. It'll take some tweaking and setup, but I don't mind.
I can't wait to start printing board game inserts and accessories. π
My #yunohost installation went so smoothly last night! In the course of an evening, I went from having nothing to having a server with OwnCloud, Wallabag, RainLoop, DokuWiki, and Bitwarden installed.
There's still a little bit to iron out with some of the individual apps (Bitwarden in particular doesn't work; the session times out as soon as I log in), and I wish I could radically change the apps screen because the Adobe-style tiles don't work for me. But otherwise, huge success!
After months spent progressing at a snail's pace on getting my server set up, I've rediscovered #yunohost tonight and it's almost *exactly* what I want.
I had given up on my goal of having my server up and running by the year's end, but it actually may be feasible after all!
God, I want to play more #Netrunner.
Magnus Archives spoilers: entities and rituals
And Web doesn't want a ritual, because a ritual can be thwarted. Web, more than any other entity, has to be seen as *potentially* all-encompassing.
If a ritual for Web was thwarted, people would believe it had been weakened or its influence reduced. They'd feel more comfortable chalking things up to chance instead of viewing them as part of a grand, shadowy scheme.
Magnus Archives spoilers: Magnus Institute's allegiances
I know it's eventually revealed that the Institute serves Beholding, the fear of being known or watched, but honestly, I'd be shocked if Web didn't also thrive on the paranoid helplessness that seems to come from working in the Archives.
